Gareth Likigan of Sagada, Mountain Province placed 6th in the Arabica - Smallholder Farms category and won Best Arabica Washed Process during the 2025 Philippine Coffee Quality Competition (PCQC), an annual national event that highlights the best of Philippine coffee to forward in both domestic and worldwide markets.
Likigan is a Sagada native, who earned good money as a tour guide before entering coffee farming. In 2022, he aimed to produce organically-grown specialty coffee with the firm belief that nature takes care of itself. His family farm became his very classroom, hiring day laborers from the town to pick and sort cherries during harvest season. Presently, his active goal is to support the whole value chain of Sagada coffee by supporting cafe owners through available and accessible Arabica coffee.
